The Watering Hole

Well, maybe early 90's.  I got the opportunity to trade one of my other Ibanez guitars for a 1991 Ibanez RG770DX in the rare Ruby Red (this model in this color was fairly rare do the the difficulty to match the paint job and fret inlays and was only offered in 91 & 92).  It has the original Wizard neck and absolutely SMOKES (it's nicely broke in and feels like butta)!!

Overall condition was pretty good.  A couple of small dents in top, a couple of paint chips and a scratch on back (but no cracks in the paint around the neck pocket, which is not uncommon for older Nez's).  Frets are in good shape (and thought the picture doesn't show it, the fretboard has some flaming to it that is sweet).  Neck is awesome.

I want it!
NICE! The clear pickguard is a nifty touch, I always loved/wanted the Nez look with a guard. That neck is sezzy. =)

Can't tell what type of PU's are in there, if they're the plain ole stock Ibanez, you must drop some real ones in (you knew this though  ;)) - plus, a black DiMarzio Super Distortion, Tone Zone, PAF Pro, whaterver, will help un-80fy the appearence (to be fair though, the bedsheet isn't helping, lol)...but nevermind what era it spawned from anyway, you've got a great tracking guitar!
Wow, that is a nice guitar as far as utility value is concerned, 24 frets, 3 pups, nice fingerboard. Bet you can get some nice tones from it. Good score.

The pups are IBZUSA pups.  They actually sound pretty good for stock pups, a hell of a lot better than the IBZUSA pups coming out now and better than most stock pups.  I ACTUALLY like the look as weird as that may sound.  But I will eventually switch them out.  I have a set of Bareknuckle Nailbombs that are probably going into the humbucker positions.  I may drop a Cruiser in the middle.  Not sure yet.  I like to play a guitar for awhile before I switch the pups so I can get a feel for what it can do.

The neck is, to this date, the nicest Ibanez neck I've played (and I've had a few nice Ibanez guitars).  I love the ORIGINAL Wizard neck.  It's sooooo frickin' fast!

Hey, back off the bedsheets!  They're just red, 500 thread-count cotton bedsheets (not satin or something cheezy) and are extremely comfy.   ;D :)
500 thread-count bedsheets??! :o

How many fucking bales of hay are you trying to cover??!  :D ;D

BTW - You're making me jealous that I won't be hearing my Nailbomb (w/Trilogy singles) for a few months since they're going in my next custom guitar which isn't finished yet (I just hope I'm working by that time even though I've paid for most of it already).  You'd like the color though, it's called the "Red Rocker" for a reason.  ;)
Craig, you and your creative editing just slay me.   ;D  I had to check what I wrote. ;)

I wish I had an extra $300 laying around.  There's a guy on Gear Page selling a matched set of 2 Warpigs and a Trilogy single (and they've never been installed, NIB) that would fit just ducky.
Actually, I didn't mean to be creative and just went and modified my post.  I really did mean to comment on the 500 thread-count sheets - those are hella tall!
Gotcha.

Of course the only thing 500 count sheets WOULD cover would be a haystack.   ;)
