The Watering Hole

Thinking of getting a nice tube combo, 1x12, and maybe some pedals to go with it to use at church. Up to now I've been using a JCM800 head, clean, into a Mesa 4x12 cab and using a Boss OD-20 for overdrives and distortions. The sound is just too heavy and dry for the stuff we're playing, so I've been looking at B-52's AT112 60 watt tube combo. I can pick up a used one at Guitar Center for about $450. Any of you guys ever played one of these?

Also, any pedals/multi effects you'd recommend for the FX loop? I have a compressor, wah, and Tube Screamer I'd put in front and I'm also looking to get a Z Vex Box of Rock, so I'd be looking for a chorus, reverb, delay, tremolo, and maybe even a Univibe type sound to put in the loop. I loved these effects in the PODxt, but as I understand it you can't truly bypass the amp section of the chain so your tone is always very colored. Any suggestions?  ;)
For effects only, you might look at a Boss ME-50.  Pretty straight-forward little unit.  So many companies are wanting to shove modeling down your throat, it's not even funny.

Or a Line6 M13 Stompbox modeler might also be a good option.

On the more expensive side, you might look at a TC Eletronic Nova System.

BOX OF ROCK!!!!  Rockin' pedal.  Another one to look at is the Menatone King of the Britains.  If you want higher gain Marshall, MI Audio Crunchbox (or the big brother, MI Audio Tube Zone).  Howie just got the Tube Zone and LOVES it.

I like the sound of that Zvex.  What does one of those go for.

Z Vex Box of Rock sells for $329. You can get it here. A bit pricey but it sounds soooo good.  ;)
Well shipping is included fortunately.
