In preparation for the new amp head, when the renegade comes out, I want to do a shootout with The Alchemist. The switching device below allows me to put two effects chains into one guitar input. It has gain knobs for each loop. I have high hopes for this thing.

Yeah but now I have to replace my GNX2 to make the above acquisition pay, because I don't need the thing without the GNX2 which broke yesterday, so now New Gear Day got a little more exciting.

Well dbm, we may be the only two here really anxious to snap up the Renegade 50, but FWIW, they finally/officially added the specs and info to their site. They must've just done this in the last fews days, I've been checking often, lol!

There's also a nice new vid with a really good player putting it thru various settings, sounds yummy IMO, can't wait...the cleans are exceptional and the lead tone, well, sounds sweet but truly won't know (because of that spkr/cab) unilt you get one home and run it through a cab and better Celestion (IMO).

Nice wanking, great tones
The Renegade is the first amp in a while that makes me go "I want it". Wow.

Egnater's stuff is just so nice.

It sure is a nice amp, I can't wait until I can go try one out at GC. It is a shootout between it and the Bogner Alchemist which also has nice features, the Alchemist has those orange drop capacitors, which is very interesting to me. I had Bobbo from Eurotubes on the phone a few weeks ago, and he recommended the Rebel 20 as the most toneful amp he has heard from Egnater at the Winter NAMM. (which I am going to next year courtesy of my buddy from Beverly Hills and his buddy Shooz from Shooz Guitar and Amp Repair over there in Hollywood). Anyways I e-mailed Egnater about a release date (never got an answer yet) and I think it is probably sometime in March or April. Maybe even May
LOL - I emailed them the same thing and also never got a reply, they must be getting 'em daily...you'd think they would toss up a tentative release date on that info page to keep from being pestered about when it "streets." Regardless, I also "want it", but at this point in time it seems to good to be true, I mean is there such a thing as a perfect amp (that doesn't require a loan  ;))? Stellar cleans, crunchy crunch, dynamic high gain, etc...maybe there is, I've never owned one, this thing sounds close.

Never met a Celestian I liked much, but I do have 2, 1-12 open back cabs with EVM12L's in them (my favorite speaker) Just waiting to be paired up with a great amp head.

Nice tones, and not too much hum/buzz, although you can only hear that at the end of the overdrive clip.
Wow, that's nice!  I can't wait to hear it.  I can't see what all the controls are on the far right, but Bruce told me that there would be a few things added to the amp that weren't in the prototype.    The footswitch is one thing they added.

That looks like a really cool amp! (Might have to trade up  ;))

Same here - I think my Peavey head is as good as gone. JCM800 for the crunch, Eggy for the cleans and higer gain...oh man, tone-e-ous joyous.
Yeah, I would be trading up in the family though. I have the Rebel 20 now.  And, I really dig the amp.  When I bought it, I almost waited for the Renegade, but figured I didn't need the extra power.  I do like the channel switching, verb, etc though.

I want a new amp. (either the Alchemist, or the Renegade). Shootout at GC when the Renegade arrives.

"Hi, my name is Dave and I want a new amp!"

(Rest of group...)

"Hi Dave!"

;D
I need a new amp, I tell yah, I need it..  :)
CraigBert — Feb 20, 2009 "Hi, my name is Dave and I want a new amp!"
My name is Dave and I's Jones'en  for a new amp. I gotta have one. I want one where I don't need pedals. Just the channel switcher. I have my HRD where I want it sound and tone wise but I could use some better quality gear.
Well I hooked up the Boss LS-2 Line Selector/Power Supply it took a lot of fiddling to fit it in my pedal board. But it did exactly what I wanted it to do allows me to use two different effects chains into one input plug of the amp. Works great I can a/b, a/b/through or a+b. Right now I have it a/b/through so I can use my stomps on one, my GNX2 on another and just the Hot Rod Deluxe with it's own overdrive channel through the throughput. Oh yeah. Now for the new amp, so I can eliminate the need for stomps/efx altogether.
