My '92 Charvel has been my workhorse for the last 8 or so years. Today, I finally upgraded to a newer Charvel. With the quality I have got out of my old Charvel, I am completely sold on these guitars. They play very easy, the 'guts' are quality, and they sound fantastic. I grabbed an upper tier used DS-1 ST, the model equipped with EMG pups, for $369. I AM STOKED. The pic is the exact one I purchased, but with EMG 85/81 pups.

My luthier in Kentucky (who's been keeping a couple of my custom guitars for me until I get my life back together) is sending me one so I have something to play. I'm stoked too.

All my distortion and OD pedals are better than the DS-1--that thing's a cheese factory! But none of them can come close in price, I've bought two DS-1s at my local shop, one was $20 used and one was $35 new. My pedals start at $100.
Figured as much. I've only had one DS-1 and it was one noisy mo-fo! :)
