Well my beloved KRK V8's are just too big for my setup/room. looks like its time to downsize. Considering the KRK VXT4s, worried about the low end.
What do you guys use? What do you like/dislike about them?
I am loving the Mackie HR624s. We've got those and some KRKs (v6 or something?) on a passive switch, but since we installed the Mackies, we don't use the KRKs anymore. KRKs definitely have more of a scoop and are slightly more boxy. Mackie's sound the most true of anything I've used at sub-Genelec cost.
However when you get down to the 4" speaker arena, which it sounds like you are looking for, it's going to be tough to avoid boxy and small sounding speakers...
Thanks for the input... I am probably stuck like you said. Not that I'm hung up on KRK's but the VXT4's get better reviews than the Rockit 5's...
got a set of the VXT 4's, liking them a lot so far. Just missing a slight bit of oomph that the 8's had. If I find it too difficult to adjust I may add a sub down the line.
Heard lots of good things about them. Hope you like them.
Watch out that you don't start adding extra bass to your mixes though! :)
