Wanted to see what might be on everyone's gas list for the coming year. Big ticket to small, just curious...never ends...
For me, typical list, an amp, a guitar, couple pedals. Done (yeah right). ;D
Already knocking out one item this week...a smaller studio/basement band amp (Rebel 30 Head) to match up with a lonely 2x12 cab. Gives me more tonal options to blend with the Q-Rod. Will have two distict rigs then, Quick Rod through the Egnater 2x12 (G12H30/CL80), Rebel 30 through the Fender 2x12 (V30/CL80) < might get a more clean friendly speaker with greater bandwidth, we'll see though...
I also might pick up something from the tasty US Charvel production line (maybe when Uncle Sam comes). Can't decide, both the SoCal and San Dimas have me under a spell or something...(that SoCal in Trans Red Ale, yum).

Also looking for a pedal or two for boosting, the OCD is awesome and works well with both amps I'll have, just looking for that little extra thing to mix and match with different guitars, etc. A MIJ SD1 and a stock DOD YJM308.
I've got parts coming for one of my two guitar bodies (warmoth lake placid blue strat) and will be putting it together as soon as everything arrives. Waiting on pickups, pickguards, knobs, tuners, switch. After I put that together, I'm going to figure out what I want to throw on my other body. I also have two birdseye maple stave snare shells that I need to finish and add hardware to. It's going to be an instrument building year for me, hopefully.
Good stuff, thats always fun, and you usually end up with something special, everyone loves their own creation just a bit more than their store bought stuff. Be sure to post pics as you work it!
I have an early but sweet US made Kramer maple neck given to me by an old bandmate (singer) years ago and have been dying to do the same, just never get around to it.
I'm going to try to NOT buy any gear this year.
Need to work with what I have, I think.
When I get new stuff... and all the associated tweaking, I don't really get anywhere with any music.
Just stagnate in toneworld and get frustrated, generally.
Like all New Year's Resolutions... this one will likely last a couple days. ;)
Hopefully a new place to put everything... :)
I'm with Charger. Should be a building year for me. I got a BYOC OD2 kit for Christmas, plus I have 3 Big Muff boards (I'm thinking Mayo, Triangle and undecided on the third build), and I have about 5 other boards and most or all the parts for SHO clones (4 of them!) BYOC Phaser, and several other overdrives, boosts, phasers, germanium treble booster, fuzz face, tonebender, a really cool EQ that replicates 3 tone stacks (Blackface, Vox and Marshall), a mosfet boost, two Brown Sound In A Box, etc.
I'm also buying a Plexi SE circuit board to mod one of my Valve Juniors, and an 18 Watt Lite board for the other.
Plus, I wanted to do this last year but didn't have time... I want to get a couple more breadboards and do a couple overdrive builds on them to take to Bertapalooza so guys can "customize" them and design their perfect OD. (Different clipping options, freq curves, etc).
Mine to do what I've been saying for the last year or so...Get the Roadking sold and a simple, low wattage amp in situ. Be it a head or a combo, home brew or shop bought. If it satisfies my tonal needs...It'll do.
Hopefully keep the business going :o The recession has hit us hard and it's looking very grim :(
On a positive note though, before things become too shit, I'm in the process of ordering one of these (just spoken to Tris and probably 2 months wait for delivery)

Item #1: Item one involves a guitar trade with a guy on TGP and it will be getting here next week. I'll put up pics when it gets in. Oooh, the mystery. ;-)
Item #2: Clean boost w/eq. Looking at either a Fulltone Fat Boost 3, Dr. Scientist The Cleaness or Rothwell Booster.
Item #3: Hand-wired, 3-knob Menatone Red Snapper. I'm going to have to watch eBay and Gear Page for one of these. It is one of the two biggest regrets of a pedal I've owned and sold.
Item #4: Maybe a good, analog delay. Either a Dr. Scientist Sunny Day Delay or a Earthquaker Devices Disaster Transport.
#1 A Diamond MkIII
#2 A Wah pedal (...don't know which one..)

+1
though might buy something - not sure what yet, so leaving it alone.

The deed is done. Just ordered it !
Nada here, I am standing pat with what I have.
Another thing just came in, that I forgot about... Ashdown Electrib blue 12-180. Ashdown makes, I think, the best-sounding combo bass amps in the under-$500 category... maybe even under $1k. This one ran me $400 and the shop just called to tell me it's in. I've got a gig where I play bass and have been needing my own decent amp for a while... got tired of sponging...
If I could sell a guitar or two, I would buy a Fender Blues Jr.
Nice updates. Hopefully everyone is well on their way to nabbing what they need (WANT ;)). As of now I only want a new Charvel soon and that'd really be it for me for a long time, I have everything I could wan't to make music except maybe more time.
I did finally cure my low wattage, clean amp gas a few days ago, couldn't pass up the 15% off at GC. The Rebel 30 is a KILLER studio amp IMO, stupid amount of great tones within. I never owned a Fender tube amp before but sure played many in recent weeks - and this amps clean tones were better than every newer amp I tried in the same range (and many tests were literally side by side at GC). But to be fair, knowing I'd be running mine through a Fender 2x12 cab, I only sampled 1x12 combos vs the head through bigger cabs. The runner up for my tastes was actually the Classic 30 but I still prefered the Rebel 30's clean channel. Once home and then compared closely to the Splawns clean channel (EL34B), well yeah, I'm glad I bought it, lol, much more character and life with the Eggy there regardless of where I set the dial (6V6/EL84). The drive channel is awesome as well, chewy mids and very Marshally flavored, and so far (as hoped), it does blend well with the Q-Rod for dirtier stuff (different mid character, warmer). Nice plus. There is definitely enough gain here for a fav boost pedal to push it a tad and then its shred city (if thats your thing). If I had not bought the Q-Rod, I could easily see owning the Rebel 30 for everything, covers the bases. Dialing it in some more before I post clips but here's some porn...

I'm keeping the Rebel 20. Spent a lot of time with it over the holidays, and agree. Not much it can't do by itself. Different speakers allowed me to get almost anything I wanted with all 3 guitars I tried and with only minimal shaping from ANY pedals. I would certainly like the 30 better (two channels, built in verb) but I'm good for now. And that's a good thing! ($$ LOL)
Item #1 on my New Year Geardar just came it. 2003 PRS Hollowbody II w/10 top and back. Traded another axe towards it.
This pic is one the original owner put up. I'll put up further pics tonight. I haven't had a chance to plug it in yet. It's been resting in the case until it is at the same temperature (it's freezing outside).

Nice
Awesome. Luv that color! Grats.
I have serious gas for an amp.....but....I'm not displeased with what I have. I can't do everything it does most and well enough for me. But I know an amp is just not in my plans for awhile.
I am DONE with pedals. I just don't see anything else I NEED.
I DO want to get one more guitar of the electric flavor. I want a guitar with a whammy bar that I can leave in either drop d or some other oddball tuning. This way I can still grab my other wang doodle equiped locking nut flavored guitar and not have to fuck with tuning it back to Eb or standard. I am guessing it will be in the Ibanez S model flavor. I love the one I have a lot.
