The Watering Hole

This is going on my one-piece walnut strat body.  I'm way behind in posting pics, the walnut body is actually finished and only needs final polishing at this point.  Sticking with the one-piece theme, this is a one-piece Pau Ferro neck.  As make-your-own guitars go, this is a relative bargain, I scored the one-piece body on ebay for $140, and the neck for $155.

Back... note the cocobolo skunk stripe.  A more traditional walnut stripe would have gone better with the guitar, but I can't argue with cocobolo!

It must be the truss rod giving you support  ;D

Skunk stripes, chicken head knobs, torn tolex, chrome harware, etc = MOJO.

beautiful!
Wow!!!! Great wood!!!!
I had one of those, be prepared for the longest sustain you've ever heard from a Strat.

Is that a Warmoth neck?
Ok, probably not, as it doesn't have the Warmoth stamp on the heel.

What specs does this one have? (like radius, frets, backshape and thickness)
It's a Frankenstraat neck, guy sells on ebay as xxxoticwoods... I've watched a number of his go by at decent prices, and finally grabbed this one.  Also have another one coming, a birdseye tele neck.

10" radius, 6105 frets, seems like a thin C back shape, between .8 and .9" from the first fret to the 12th. 1-5/8" at the nut.  Considering that it's going on a one-piece walnut body that weighs probably 6.5 lbs, it's going to be a sustain machine!

Here's his offerings... some sweet stuff on there right now...
