The Watering Hole

I picked this up last weekend but have been bizzy bizzy! I usually go straight to the pix but this guitar has a short, cool backstory so I'll throw it out there first. It belonged to Will Hunt, current drummer for Evanescence (he's also played for Ststic-X, Motley Crue and Black Label Society). Seems guitar is his second instrument but he doesn't get to indulge now like he thought he would (rough life being famous, working with large acts, doing clinics, etc, lol) and so he's selling his off. It's NOS. Never played from what we understand. Came with every piece of Fujigen candy. A couple buddies I went to HS with own their own little boutique shop locally, get lots of killer stuff, go to most shows around the country, etc (they specialize in rare/collectable Les Pauls, also a Splawn dealer - that's where I got mine). Anyway, they nabbed this and gave me first crack and I snapped it up. I've been moving away from Ibanez guitars in recent years but damn, this very limited fiddle (special batch of 64 created for the '06 NAMM show) are some of the coolest things Ibanez has ever done IMO. The body is mahogany and the top is 4mm maple alternating flame and quilt individual pieces.

It came loaded with an X2N in the bridge and a TZ in the neck (yikes, odd choice, sounded like poo). I've already swapped them both out with a Lukather Transition in the bridge and Evo Neck. Ready for prime time now!

Like I said I've been busy, not a lot of time with it yet but one of the things I have done was knock out a little promo/ad for their store. This may have been one of the fastest, sperm of the moments pieces of music I've ever spewed out, might've taken 30 min total, so forgive the tones if they're not up to snuff, still getting familiar with the new guitar (and pickups for that matter). And also, apologies for the totally uninspired shred, but it's an ad, needs to punch you in the nose for a sec! It's "short and not too serious" per their request"...

that is a majorly cool looking guitar!! wow, congrats!

heh, great vid too!
Wow!  That puzzle piece top looks fantastic!

Of course, buying a guitar that belonged to a drummer reminds me of a baseball bat I used to have that was signed by a pitcher!  LOL.  ;D

Hopefully you can get it to sound as good as it looks.  :)
Cool guitar Mr. Kabala sir.  Too bad it doesn't come with a custom form fitting case.   :)

I like!
Thanks erbody! It's flashy for me but I just couldn't resist the nice little extra touches and attention to details. I haven't owned a guitar with jumbo frets in a zillion years, but it plays sooo easy, almost forgot how that feels. The build quality is superb. It's a full pound heavier than my old US custom RG too. And while I'm at it, I prefer this neck to that one as well.
I remember wanting one of those when they came out.  Very cool guitar, grats D!
