What's up, fellas? I saw this photo posted on a few different forums along with lots of speculation about what this box is going to offer over the floor units. Some say dual DSP processors. Others are hopeful for new amp models. Most agree that it will at least offer more I/O connectivity. If this thing comes with 2 XLR inputs, I am definitely biting.
Two months ago I re-purchased a POD HD500 for live use with a stereo combo amp setup (Haze 40 with a Hot Rod Deluxe as a slave amp). I only use it for it's delay effects to be honest. I had thought about the M13, but it doesn't feature stereo splitting. So for the same price I opted for the HD500. I wasn't even interested in recording with it until a few weeks ago when my recording interface blew up. I had to use the HD500 as my interface and I remembered that Line6 interfaces offer near zero latency monitoring, which was really great since I have to set my latency pretty high due to the amount of plugins I use in a session and constantly have to freeze tracks in order to record anything else. I also really liked the tones I was getting from the amp models so it became my go-to modeler. The only thing that's kind of lame is that in order to record my acoustic guitar with two mics, i have to use an XLR-¼" adapter on one of the mics. No big deal, just a small nuisance. Still, I'd buy the HD Pro in a heartbeat if it offered a second XLR. I'm not really interested in extra processing power or more models, but if it could do reamping the way Digi's Eleven Rack can, I'd be in heaven. The only reason I didn't keep my Eleven Rack was because the reamping only worked in ProTools, which I am not a fan of.
Anyway, what do you guys think this HD Pro will offer? An online store actually had it listed for $699 with a release date of 09/11 but it's been taken down. This thing might be coming sooner than anyone expected. 8-)
