My usual gear search rules apply:

It's gotta be--if not cheap--a great deal for what it does.
It's gotta sound schweet in the loop of my Egnater Tweaker.
It wouldn't hurt if it had something a little extra and trippy about it.
Verbzilla is right up your ally.  Check out the "Cave" and especially the "Octo" settings for your little something extra.
Sorry, jumped already.  Went to my local shop and tried a bunch of pedals.  Went home with the EH Cathedral.  Really had some dense, lush verbs.  And had plenty of bizarre "extra" stuff too.  I was really excited about the Digitech Hardwire which uses Lexicon reverbs... but damn, man, even full up the reverb was pretty dry, and the emulations they chose were pretty unexciting.  Verbzilla got a shot but I felt like I was too used to those sounds, hearing them in the pod forever.  Better plate on the EH, best plate I heard of all the pedals that had one, more control, and just enough weirdness to push it into the win category. And for some reason my LMS had it for $20 cheaper than the online sites.
You really can't go wrong with EH and verb.  I love mine.  I do want a bigger unit that does more but between the memory man and the verb.....I got most of everything i think I need for now.
Yeah, the Cathedral is a bitchin reverb pedal.  Congrats on a very good pick.  The only verb pedal I've heard that I've liked more is the Dr. Scientist Radical Red Reverberator.  But I'd own a Cathedral in a heart beat if I used verb that much.
I have a Digitech Digiverb pedal. I have had it a long time and I never play without it. (Except my HRD which has it's own verb in it).

I can't compare it to any others except to say it is completely controllable in every aspect.

I think Dar recommended it to me a while back on the WH.
