picked one up at GC the other day, got it home and i guess in my excitement didnt really look at the guitar close enough in the store. The Floyd Nut was mounted wrong and the strings were shifted on the fretboard something that cant be adjusted. I took it back today they had another one, guess what same problem. This seems to be a big problem on cheaper model guitars with FR tremelos, ive noticed it on ibanez's and its really bad on jacksons. I just didnt expect a guitar with a price of 750 to have this problem not once but twice? Makes me wonder if my GC is selling schecter Blems as new?!?
Man, I hate it when my nuts are out of place!
You are talking about companies that are moving massive amounts of Korean made guitars. These companies advertise that they are made in Korea and set-up here. I question if that is really happening. I'd guess that these different brand name guitars are actually made in the same factory.
I have a Jackson Pro, which comes out of Japan. It's a nice player. I switched the necks out for the nicer bound Dinky Pro Maple Neck. Very well put together. Pictured left. No nut probs.
The Korean nut installer has been promoted to nuclear physicist.
dean, i have to agree about that setup in the USA. no way that guitar would make it to GC if that was the case. Im trying to find a FR guitar with an aligned nut.

Maybe these guys do set them up in the US. Go have a look see.
very sexy, ill check them out.
I have some Korean stuff made by Dean. A bass, acoustic and a mandolin. Pretty good stuff. I have a dealer that is close by that I bought my Jackson USA from. I get to see quite a bit of the Dean stuff since the factory is a few miles from my house. Most of it is real decent stuff. A lot of players are switching to the Dean USA stuff. Very pricey though, for the USA models.
yeah i wish i could afford a USA guitar right now :'( ill probably just wait and grab a carvin bolt with a floyd.
that's what I'd do.
That said, I haven't played them, but I sure like the look of Deans guitars.
