anyone know of any small (6 inch) guitar speakers either with/without cabs?

I'm getting so much better recording sounds from micing small speakers than from 12 inch  ones that I thought it would be good to track down some small guitar speakers and try running them from my peavey c30 to see what tones I get.
Heh, I was just thinking how funny that would look on stage...  Jon Gill and his wall, er shoe-box of sound!!!  ;D

The thing is that it should sound great mic-ed to the FOH.  :)
Weber makes an alnico and a ceramic 6" in his signature (lower end) line.

Tobe beat me too it.  But I'd recommend an 8" model.  He makes some really good 8" ones.
I will take a look at that.

It really bugs me that when I was a kid I had lots of old valve amps that my Dad gave/made me for guitar with nice 8 inch eliptical guitar speakers that had a lovely warm sound.  All of that just eventually fell apart and hit the trash when I was around 11 or 12 as of course we didn't think about this stuff becoming rare at some stage.  My dad played guitar, piano and violin and had a great passion for music.   Sure wish I had kept that stuff from back then.   On a side note, my dad was always taking things apart to make use of the bits for other things....he actually had a phonograph in a lovely wooden cabinet in perfect working order....he took that apart to use the mechanism for something else that he was "inventing" at the time !  Damn, if only I had that now !

Try these guy's as well Jon.

8" Alnico Jensons are a nice speaker for low power amps.
