Loving the new amp, fantastic tones in the room, not so much here, but improving, lol. I still need to find the perf little pedal to slap in front to tighten the low end just a hair while not altering the tone, definitely not going the TS (and the like) route with this particular amp, its already mid-vibey enough and a mid hump voiced pedal, even purely on clean for boost only clutters things. A clean boost is not REALLY needed anyway, the amp has mondo gain, but just to be able to kick it on instead of dial turning to enter solo area is nice. This is "1st geat/plexi", the other gears have even more gain. Think the OCD is gonna get sampled with it later, just might be the ticket.

Only the amp and sloppy playing here, no clean boost and pretty low volume actually (well, the volume is cranked, but the loop master volume is only at noon - its magic, this is convo level at best). Ibanez > Splawn > cab/G12H30 (only about 8 hours use) > 57 straight on

Quick Rod Sample
Sounds good man.  That's low gear?  :)
Thanks. Well, its low gear but the gain knob is at around 4:00 - theres not as much as it sounds, you can tell from the dokken riff towards the end, I rolled the guitar vol back just a hair for that and anything played passed the 12th fret quickly dies, lol. I need more tweaking time!

sounds good.  I want one!
J-o-e-y's Ampeg just wet itself.  :D
so did he
NICE  !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :)

Ciao!

Cool, a little gritty for my taste but pretty cool for the hard to metal work.

Thanks all for the listen. I upped a better clip to same link above, more balanced, warmer/less "gritty" (I think part of that is the new speaker - it'll smooth out as more hours get put on it), still tweaking the mic and knobs, etc, fun stuff!

I didn't hear the first clip but this one sounds fantastic.
I checked out the splawn site, what a great range of amps.
Congrats

Thanks! Dropped just one more in there, lol, added some drums and doubled up a simple groove, really getting somewhere now!

Very noice! Sounds cool bro! No effects either, aye? ;)

Thanks. Yeah, there is a Lexicon in the loop for verb (and sometimes delay) and the Hush SuperC as well.

Yeah man that gets it.

Thanks! Something I've learned - the G12H30 has LOADS of bass (but at least its not flubby), the mag on it is massive, lol, its delivers a HUGE sound though, more balanced than the v30's and G12T-75's I have, I just have to keep my bass knob much lower than you'd think when mic'ing that speaker, but it does work/record well with this amp, glad I bought it now! I think sooner or later I'll get the Splawn 2x12 cab most Quick Rod owners end up getting loaded with a pair of Eminence 25 SB's (small blocks, supposedly based on  a G12M Heritage but @ 65w instead of 30 and slightly sharper low end).

Quick update, think I've made some good progress since the opening sample (but that file/link is gone, same cheesy Dokken riff though, easy for ref with the original tune, which I kinda like, quilty pleasure ;))....anyway, the new G12H30 has A LOT  :) more hours on it now and I also slapped an MXR 108 in the loop for some further tweaks....just curious if this tone is getting there? Thanks. (=

Quick Rod Testing
Dude, I love that jam! I can see you on the back of tractor trailer jamming down Sunset!  :D Very nice, what channel was that? Is that crunch straight from the amp, no boxes?

Thanks! Early to mid run Dokken = good jams and even better sounds, fun to play along with too! Just slap yourself if you find you're singing with... (=

The crunch is all amp, 1st gear + OD2, the OCD is set for a 100% clean boost, no grit or gain coming from it, just hitting the amp harder with it, this was at lowish volume. The pedal seems to loosen up the amp, especially for "lines", thats the reason I'm using it (the Quick Rod IS a tight, tight amp). Its kinda amazing when you think about little stomp boxes and how they can do so much to enhance an amps sound, I mean take an amp known to have a flubby/loose low end and add a good pedal in front, voila, tightens it right up like magic, take an amp thats already tight, possibly even too stiff for some, slap a pedal in front and again, like voodoo, it loostens it rights up, liquidy smooth, lol, go figa.
