Nice amp
My buddy just got two of them...man is he excited, he waited a long time for them to be made.

$2500... what is the world coming to.  I'm glad I am getting into DIY because that is ludicrous pricing...

I went out and tried some Dr Z amps a few years back when I was on an amp hunt. Two grand for an 18 watt 1-10 combo amp. It sounded good but was far too bright for my taste my $499 (When I bought it) Hot Rod Deluxe sounds far better to me.
On my local craigslist, $2500 buys a Bogner XTC head... $1400 buys a Bogner Shiva.

I might be crazy here but man, these amps seem really friggin expensive for what they are.
Yeah, but comparing used prices to new prices is a little apples and oranges.   :D

That said, I wouldn't mind a $1400 Shiva.   ;)

Not my experience.
Play a HRD side by side with the DrZ amps in the store, I think you'll change your mind.  ;)
Nothing wrong with a HRD, it's a great gigging amp and takes pedals very well, but crank up a DrZ and it's magical.

I agree with Charger on the XTC head for $2500, personally I'd take that over a DrZ or Swart.
