The Watering Hole

Since Charger put up his post about the Big Muff G4, I thought I'd mention my newest pedal.  A few weeks ago, I bought a Fulltone Plimsoul.

I've been tied up with several acoustic projects lately (actually played my very first ever concert on Tuesday night!) so I haven't gotten a ton of time with it yet.  But preliminary testing says this is one of the best OD/Distortion pedals I've ever played.  Most of the Fulltone hype is dead on.  It can do anything from mild OD to lots of gain.  The cool thing is you can control the amount of even and odd order harmonics so it can be really smooth, really crunchy, or anywhere in between.  Also VERY cool is how dynamic it is and how well it cleans up with the volume knob.  Responds to pick attack extremely well.

More to follow, but this is a GREAT pedal!

Completely different pedal here, but I just love the sound of this, and a really nice recording too !

I like that fuzz a lot.  Great lead tones!
but back on topic...  LOL  As usual, this demo doesn't sound as good as it does in the room.  Sounds great with my Tweaker, but absolutely KILLS with my Budda.
I thought this was your pedal, no?  :D

Surprisingly I like the sound of that too, and I ain't that much of a fan of fuzztone pedals.

I like that one too. Neither of them sound as tub-eee as my tube overdrive stomps, but they do give a nice alternative sound to the ones I have.

If you like that early Van Hallen "Brown" sound, both are spot on.

I demoed an OCD and a Plimsoul today at the guitar center and both were amazing.

OCD is more of an overdrive pedal where Plimsoul can go real high gain yet it does not much saturate. "Beautiful" describes its gain character very well. And of course both pedals were unbelievably touch responsive and musical.

Now I need to make a decision between Wampler Pinnacle and Plimsoul. I haven't tried the Pinnacle yet but according to the demos I listened, it has a bit more gain and  a more agressive tonal character. However Plimsoul would compete it with a booster in front. Dunno... I get both may be.  :)
I'll go with the Blackstar HT-Dual.
That's also a nice pedal yet when it is in high gain mod, low strings tend to sound a bit muddy. They loose attack and definition and the tone becomes sort of fuzzy. Plimsoul for example is transparent all the way even with max gain and doesn't have such an issue.

However, its emulated output is damn good. Check this:
