re: the clip... what do those two sound like together, panned left/right?
also wondering what these bogner pedals sound like going direct to IR cabs...
Heh thanks, I'll probably mess with it again before I take it back. The thing is, I don't hear it giving me something i don't already have.
Sheep - can only speak on the Uber but it is too dark on its own going into a cab impulse (unless you have a particularly bright impulse I guess). I tried this and ended up with bass pulled back to 9 o clock, treble all the way up and it was still murky thru my go to IRs.
Half asleep still. They would probably blend nicely, but those clips weren't to a click or anything, so I would have to try separately.
Also both of those clips are using IRs. But the Bogner needed the bright switch on the Engl to get any high end detail to come out.
Small update. The pedal earned a reprieve. Made a few adjustments and switched guitars - with my JB equipped 'nez the Uberpedal has just enough gain when maxed to not need any sort of boost. I'm liking it a lot better that way. I'll try to get some clips this weekend.
Derek you have me intrigued on the EP boost. lol I'm becoming a pedal junkie...
I'd just like to take this opportunity to say...
HAHAHAHAHA
LOL
It's all about flavors. Even boosts can do LOTS of different things. The SHO clone is a fun one fo sho
I'm in the middle of building an EP boost, with a switch to add some extra low end, should be very reasonably priced, and of course a custom powdercoat...
Glad to hear the new pedal is winning you over, Paul. Looking forward to some more samples.
I love the EP Booster - picked it up for a song, and it's the newer model. It's hard to describe right now because I've only messed with it a bit, but it's nice and open and adds more of what you start with, but broader if that makes sense, like a full range boost. Even in the minimal setting, it still adds a touch of special beef. I'm personally not interested in its affect on chords, my amps drives sound best for this IMO, but man, it's GREAT on leads! My clip in the other section uses it in a couple of places just for the extra juice needed to get over the edge and you'd never know where it's engaged and off (set at the min setting here). It can give a pretty huge boost in drive though if need be, even at noon it's a ton of boosting. Sweet little pedal.
If I had built it yet there would be pics... you can see some of my powdercoats in the Custom Shop forum... since no one's bought this yet, it's not been powdercoated (that would be "custom"). Right now it looks like a bunch of parts and solder.
If no one's bought it when I get to the point where I'm ready to box it, I'll do my own custom powdercoat...
that's cool charger. I am going to build my base setup first, then see about adding in whatever seasonings or flavors. I need some new pickups as well, so have to deal with that too...
