The Watering Hole

The Blackstar is cool, fun, has a lot of sounds and effects for the versatile live player. But after a couple of days wanking on it, it sounds...well.....solid state.

I actually had much better tones from the Vetta. Still don't know if it can be revived though (the internal battery they found that would work happened to be on 'backorder'....so it's still a waiting game).

Got me to thinking about an old Peavey amp I used to own that was killer. So I searched it out on Youtube, and found a couple of clips. Reminds me of why I liked this amp so much. So now I might just have to hunt one down. Check these vids to see the versatility:

That sounds good.
Thumbs up on that Peavey Ultra 60.  That's pretty much a Rockmaster with a tube power amp.  A few of us have, or have had, Rockmasters... I still fondly remember some of the sounds I got out of mine, with an old version of guitar rig for cabs.  Unfortunately the jacks were prone to oxidation and unreliable.  I still have mine- now that I know a little more about electronics I should probably go in and clean it up.
