So there's this beautiful neck that I want to buy from Warmoth. A little expensive, but very cool with a nicely figured BrazilianRW board.
I contacted them about it, credit card ready to go, but they told me that since this one has a BrazilianRW board on it, they were not allowed by US law to ship it outside the US. Something about CITES or something.
Any neck, any body they could ship outside the US with no prob, but NOT if Brazilian Rosewood is part of it.
WTF?
I bought a BrazilianRW boarded neck a couple of years ago (2005) and back then it was no prob.
Anyway, I asked them if theoretically it were possible to have it shipped to a person in the US and have him/her ship it to me.
They said, sure, but it's illegal!
I also asked if they could omit the fact that it was BrazRW and write "IndianRW" or "MalagasyRW" on the invoice. Of course, they wouldn't do that... ::)
Sucks!
Anyway, guess I saved a couple of $$.
Will have to spend them elsewhere now ;)
