ironsheep — Feb 13, 2012funny, I've heard of charger but not Sean Beavan... go figure.

You need to get out more.  ;)
Naah.. There's something wrong: he talk about the KPA while he's the POD producer... :)
I know you never heard of him before this video, too, Lance. You can't BS me.  The number of times you listened to Marilyn Manson in your life is 0.

What about his NIN stuff?  But Lance never listened to that either.
Wasn't Marilyn Manson that guy who murdered Sharon Tate? ...I've listened to many interviews with him.  ;D
Wait a sec, no, that was Charles Manson...I'm confused...is Charles Manson the guitarist and Marilyn Manson the murderer, or is it the other way around? :-/

Wait a sec, Marilyn Manson doesn't play guitar, so where does this Sean Beavan fit into the picture?

;)
Did a little clip...playing is awful, recording has a ticking noise throughout, that's the electric security fence in my apartment complex.  ;D

Gives a good idea of what a Strat can sound like through the KPA & recorded...still using my SB Live soundcard from the FNJ days.  ;D

Dumble-HRM Profile with a 4x10 Jensen cab...sounds a little SRVaughnish, someone who knows how to play could make this sound pretty good.

I like that Lance!
Lance, we have one of those security systems at our house too.  When you moved in, did they walk you around the property and go "bad flag, bad flag?"   ;D

Doesn't the Kemper record direct via USB or something?

If I were to express my thoughts upon the tone on the clip, "what the fuck" would be the most appropriate.   :)

Here it is with some reverb:

You don't like the tone?

Just the opposite. I love it. Impossible to believe that it was not an actual tube amp that was miked professionally.
Thanks Zonta, sounds cool with some added reverb.

It feels a lot better to play than what it sounds like on the clip, the 'jangle' and thump really comes through your studio monitors.
The dynamics are endless, the better a guitarist you are the better you'll be able to make use of the dynamics.

Howie

I'm talking serious electric security fence here, like 6 wires going around the entire boundary wall of the complex.
If at any point along the hundreds of meters there's a slight "short", that ticking will come through my studio monitors.  :(
When Peter was here I walked him to his car and he heard the ticking at the entrance gate, he said WTF, this would destroy my studio, no ways I could live with this.  :)
Here's a guy who knows how to play using a similar Profile...this is a Proflie of his 65 Super Reverb with the same cab as I used on my clip, his 4x10 Jensen.

The more I listen the more amazed I am.

Unfortunately I record less since I got rid of my PODs so I would benefit.

If not for the price barrier I would seriously look into a Kemper. Its worth the price but out of my range for now. Maybe the floor / play only models will be in reach.

Was just listening to Peter's cliip. Brilliant.
I've become a Tele lover, especially with the KPA.

Using a Tokai ATE70 Tele, completely stock.

KPA, a Vox AC30 Profile and then I switch to a Reinhardt Mini-Me Profile.
Occasionally switching pickup position on the Tele from middle position to neck...never bridge.

Beware, the KPA will show up your mistakes, or sloppy playing, like a real amp.
Previous modellers I used were more forgiving in hiding my sloppiness.

Previous clip, the Dumble-HRM, I used this Strat, and the Tele for this clip.
That is so Tele indeed!  :)

Good job Lance.
