Palin "didn't know Africa was a continent". And went on far more shopping sprees than have been reported. Not much love lost inside that campaign...

The funny thing for me is that shit shit broke when I was watching it on FOX of all places.
Whata dumb cunt.

An even dumber CUNT is Carl Cameron of Fox News for allowing all that shit to be off the record. They knew about it MONTHS AGO as it was happening.
That's just FUCKED, in my opinion. Such partisan reporting...and oh so "Fair and Balanced" Just further proves that they have basically no journalistic standards at Fox. It's one thing to be excited about someone and talk about them a lot (like MSNBC did), it's something else entirely to leave out pertinent facts while making public claims of a better demeanor and higher intellect.
Ah, well...I hope Hannity is crying like a baby about this stuff.
Tripper
yeah, she is obviously not very bright. Just a ... what is she? Mayor of a small town or something?

Do we have a "Palin for president" fan in da house. :)
She is obviously extremely ignorant for a presidential candidate.
She has a level of general knowledge you would normally associate with the mentally subnormal - can you name a newspaper you read - Uhhh!
She might well be intelligent, maybe her environment is operating at mentally subnormal level of information and knowledge.
Either way - she is very ignorant
Fingers,
Re: the newspaper thing: As with much of the crap that goes on in a campaign, it's ridiculously blown out of proportion. Whether or not the question was pointed, and many believe it was, she was not going to let herself get painted into a corner. "If I say I read this newspaper, they'll think my bias is this, but if I say I read that one they'll think it's that." She was advised not to answer certain type of questions, like this one, because in some peoples mind they hear an answer and then start making assumptions.
The fact that the media chose to push, and push, and then beat it into the ground, is what makes some people say the kind of things you said. She is not stupid because she refused to name a newspaper. Notice I said "refused to name" not "couldn't name."
Surprisingly, I really thought you'd already know this though... :-?
This is just another example of the media blasting on someone who wouldn't do what they wanted. Trying to impose their will, and then pitching a bitch and making a big deal out of it when they didn't get their way. One reason I could never run for office, is that I would quickly put these jerks in their place if they tried to bully me the way they do these people.
bull - she could simply run through a list of newspapers she reads across the political spectrum - if she understood the spectrum that is.
Her bail out response was so laughable that Tina Fey used it verbatum for her Saturday night live sketch and it was hilarious.
It is not a hard question - it was only asked of her as she had consistently shown herself to be ignorant of any detail of policy or current affairs.
So it was a fair question
As for you not running for office as you would put the the media in their place - I think that is a rather grand and delusional claim .
Consider how your attempts to put people in their place works out for you online
I hardly think you are up to handling the media let alone putting them in their place ;D ;)

Right. You really know how I'd handle someone who was messing with me in person and not hiding behind a computer screen. ;)
You're the one with the history of hiding behind a computer screen making grand claims for yourself.
What could you do differently face to face - try to kick my ass (as if you could)
Yeah, I'm pretty sure we're underestimating Palin. Many very smart people I know can't think of the name of a single newspaper.
Oh come on, give her the benefit of a doubt! She probably was told that answering Star and National Enquirer would have been worse! ;) :D
So... make a joke out of it. Say "we were just in People, I got that one." Or, "I can't help it, when I'm standing in line at the grocery store I have to read the Enquirer."
Instead, she said "all of them, anything that's put in front of me."
Gimme a fucking break.

The amazing thing too me is, you guys know full well that she was instructed on what she could and could not say, yet you choose to bash her over something as stupid as this.
Besides which, here's a concept for you. What if her initial reaction was one of doing what she was told, and the rest was sarcasm in light of some idiot insisting that she name them, as if she had a right to know. Personally, I wish that when a reporter got that way the person would just say "you guys have pried into every personal aspect of my life. If it's that important too you to know, then tell one of the photographers you have following me around 24/7 to snap a picture of what newspaper is sitting in the paperbox every morning." She had every right to get defensive, but they can't do that. Even better would be if she just said "why is that important too you, and of what importance is it to my candidacy?" Followed up with a "I don't view that as relevant to why I'm here, so I'm not going to answer you." And perhaps a "bitch" on the end. ;)

Life's pretty screwed at the moment. I have to find humor where I can.
join the club. Today is my dad's birthday, and I've got Fingers taking my comment on how I'd handle a reporter and twisting it into me threatening to kick his ass. ::)
Not in the mood for it today.
This was one of many answers in the campaign that meant nothing. Sarcasm would have been saying something like "The New York Times" and throwing in a wink as it's called a dem publication by the pubs. I haven't heard anything different in these latest interviews that says something beyond just repeating the talking points which contained little information or plans. Saying "we know how to do it" and "take on the old boys club" and "ruffling feathers" are flat statements which give no idea of what the speaker is talking about. She seems to be someone who knows just enough to be dangerous. I've met many office managers with this quality, they're more interested in climbing the ladder than what is entailed in the job they want. I see in her a typical politician no different than many, chomping at the bit to talk shit because it wastes time and then you don't have to speak about your own plans or vision. The speech at the RNC which was seen as a "magic moment" seemed like a shit talking script reading session with a smile. This negative tact continued even though it was seen by all polls to be ineffective beyond the core group which needed to feel better about themselves and would go that way anyway. This campaign was run terribly and everyone involved suffered.
in her defense, she probably had less time and preparation for the actual process of campaigning, than any candidate in history. I didn't say she wasn't prepared to do the actual job had she got it, but that she had less time to prepare for campaigning.
And while I realize it takes away from the fun of all the bashers to acknowledge this, we all know that she was put on strict guidelines as to what she could and couldn't say for the most part.
I still find it funny that people think she is obligated to address a question like this, to the point of bashing her for not answering it.
Just curious, but if I followed the elections correctly, she was on the losing side wasn't she? So why are we still talking about her? :-?
Right. You really know how I'd handle someone who was messing with me in person and not hiding behind a computer screen.
So if I wasn't hiding behind a computer screen.
Say like the media - how exactly would you put them in their place.
Does the force of your argument improve dramatically when given no time to think ?
Do you bring your panel of those "more intelligent than anyone here" experts ?
Does being in your presence alone reduce everyone into their place.
Go on what happens
I figured not - so i assumed you were making one of your periodic claims to be this tough guy that nobody messes with.
Like you would lamp the reporter, and send her flying.
Which wouldn't work with me ;)
you actually bring up a good point, which relates to her, any other candidate who's confronted by the media, and myself. When one person wants to be a jerk, and the other either chooses too, or has to, act like they have some class, that person is made to look bad in the eyes of some, because they can't respond to the jerk or reporter, in the fashion they are being spoken too.
I have never said I was a tough guy and this, again, is just you trying to start crap. What I said was, things would be different in person. But for some reason, it NEVER happens in person. In real life, I don't come across people who are just looking to start crap with me. In fact, I've noticed in real life, that since I quit going to bars and hanging around drunken fools, nobody has ever actually tried to start any serious crap with me. Except a few people on the net. :)
First, Palin shouldn't have been picked to start with with such a limited pool of knowledge. That's one reason McCain lost, Palin's ignorance on the issues....and newspapers.
Second, a politician is gonna be under the gun. Especially one running for vice President with McCain....and she's woman. If she can't answer simple questions, can she answer the hard one's? Like on the issues? She proved she couldn't. Everytime she was ask a question, she embarrassed the country, or herself anyway. It was pitiful. It was the collective ignorance, not the single instance of ignorance.
I've heard her speak several times since the election was over and she's still an idiot. Who's advising her to be an idiot now? Her husband maybe? I guess he could find it sexy or something, who knows?
I bet everything I have that her dumbass won't come close to being considered for President or anything else anytime soon, like 2012 as some think. She's to stupid.
That being said, even after 5 children.....
I'd like to pork it one time. ;D

That damn guy who asked her to do too much too soon!!!! He should have given her more time to prepare. ;D
He just, out of the blue ,strolled into town one day and picked out a nice looking VP at the last moment.
And she gleefully accepted without a second thought as to the question of her preparedness :)
It's not her fault. ;D

I'm not saying she's perfect by any means, but she isn't the complete idiot your trying to paint her to be. And, your doing a poor job at that by not looking past her T.V. performances.
If she had "real" communication skill problems off camera, that could be a problem, maybe. She seemed to handle being Govonor pretty well as her terms were considered successful judging by her approval rating. I think it was around 80% or so. If you want to consider evidence of how well Palin performs, you need to look at her terms as govonor, that's real, not subjective shit you dream up.
She'd do fine as VP.
The inability to be perfect on T.V. and say all the right things for everyone isn't by any means evidence that she can't be a competent VP as far as performing her duties.
Not speaking well on T.V. or in a very pressured enviroment like an interview isn't evidence of incompetency. She will be VP, not an actor with the responsibility to entertain you with pretty speeches on T.V.
DTR - you are such a twat.
Seriously - your boastfulness gets you into making ludicrous claims you can't back up.
If you went into any bar and made the claims you have made here and the WH over the years you would get crap. :)
You would occupy exactly the same position in the bar as a character.
But seriously man -
You are saying that "the only reason you don't run for office" is because you would put the "media in it's place"
Nah mate - that only reason you don't tun for office is you are not capable of it.
Palin is quite a number of leagues better than you in that department of handling anything.
She is ignorant as hell and shouldn't be president.
But I would vote for her over you as at least she has some level of ability as a politician.
Your first trip out would likely be getting your ass royally kicked by Putin after you tried to show him how no one gives you shit :)
lol
:D

I think a photoshop is in order :)

She was governor of a small state for less than two years - one that is booming on oil.
Come on man - she speaks well on TV - she was a TV reporter - she does presentation well
That is what she can do well and why she was picked.
It is the rest of it she can't do.

All subjective crap. No one cares what you think about her personally. If there's some real question you have about her ability to be VP, let's hear it. I'd like to hear that. I don't care what your personal opinion is of her. You said you think she's incompetent, let's start there since that's at least close to having some meaning. My question is, are you gonna provide any evidence that proves incompetence? There is some evidence of that right? Not just a wild statement thrown in the air???
on tv with scary hair
She sounds like she is in command of her brief - as she did in the election :P

So, if I say Biden is incompetent because of a link I posted above, that's evidence? ;D

Since she is given as a reason for losing the election by republicans - see the first post of this thread ;D
Seems you are wrong :)
She didn't seem to understand what the V.P. job entailed:
http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=oro2Yh9HoEMand after help the description didn't get much better with thinking that the V.P. is in charge/gets in there with the congress to make changes in policy when anything beyond breaking a tie vote isn't part of the position.
Also I haven't heard anything about energy policy from her beyond "Alaska has oil" and this was put out there as her area of expertise.
I actually don't disapprove of all she says - just when she is clearly bullshitting - which is most of the time.
She needs 8 years in class to prepare.
If she studied policy for 8 years and changed her opinions on all the important things.
I would vote for her ;)
And encourage all illegal immigrants to do the same. :D
So bright!....and full of wisdom:

It is clearly God's choice if she runs as she is waiting for the message from God and will only run if she gets the God go ahead.
So we should all vote for her then as it is what God wants us to do.
God tells Palin the same thing he tells Bush:

And McCain thinks only christians should be president. And he has no problem with Palin.
