I haven't heard a lagit argument against him yet.

"Romney will cut taxes on the rich".......so did Obama.

"Romney will build up the military".......so is Obama.

"Romney is religious"...........................so is Obama.

Romney is white...............................so is Obama. (heh, heh)

Same game plan, lets see who better at doing it. Why not? Because he was a successful business man and you think he's not moral? Because.....he had a legal business and made lots of money? Sounds logical to me. ::)

Why wouldn't he be a successful President? Or, at least as good as Obama or better? Because Romney is not moral? Because he doesn't understand how it is to be poor? Because of what he says??? I don't think judging a candidate on the basis of what he says he's gonna do, doesn't mean much these days. It would be better to judge him on the amount of seats the dems and repubs have in the House of Rep, wouldn't it? That would be a sign of whether or not this President was gonna be able to have a shitten chance in China of it getting done, right? Just sayin.
BINGEWOOD — Apr 22, 2012Defund (through tax cuts) for ten years while spending massively on wars and homeland security then let a small group of people extract trillions from the economic system while firing huge amounts of American workers as well as switch major manufacturing to a new larger group of people who need jobs to buy from the company store and who have govz willing to pimp da peeps and their environment and wonder why the there's a debt and sluggish economy.   Oh, and create trillions of dollars out of thin air to trade a corrupt banking system for things which have been made into shit five times over (and profited from as many times as well) and wonder what's up with housing market.  Talk about how tax money will only be wasted while the only cutting of spending ideas I keep hearing from the right (and at times the mods as well) are we need to cut or get rid of Social Security and Medicare while kicking even bigger tax cuts to the 1% and MEGA cuts for the .0001%, the trick to this one is to convince the oldsters (still need their votes) to do this to their kids and grandkids, have them work til 75 and get less.  The boomers knew they swell the ranks forevz', s'why they're called boomers.  They did nothing to prepare for themselves.  They will ask you to do the paying... and send out a lil boy to tell ya da bad news with a smile.

And Obama extended the Bush Tax Cuts. The war is still going on. What's Obama done for the housing market? Anything? And Obama ain't created any money? Social security and medicare.... whatever. Probably not gonna happen.
Hookbender — Apr 22, 2012

And Obama extended the Bush Tax Cuts.

How did this play out?  Who were the players?  What were the conditions at the time the tax cuts were created?  What were the conditions when they were extended?  What does Mitt think about the tax cuts?

Hookbender — Apr 22, 2012 war is still going on.

What is our current role in Iraq?  What is the current plan for Afghanistan?  What is Mitt's view on what we should do differently?  What have been the Generals' views on what should be done in Afghanistan?  What are the generals' current views on our path out of there?

Hookbender — Apr 22, 2012What's Obama done for the housing market? Anything?

What do you want Obama to do to correct the trashing of housing by the free market?  I'd like to see heads roll and real financial regulation especially around derivatives and speculation etc.  What is Mitt's plan?

Hookbender — Apr 22, 2012And Obama ain't created any money?

What money does the president create?  Do you mean borrow?

Hookbender — Apr 22, 2012Social security and medicare.... whatever. Probably not gonna happen.

Depends on who's in Congress and who's president, right?  This is what is being put forward as the spending cuts needed.  What are the other cuts being put forward?  What are the methods spelled out in the Ryan budget plan?  What has Mitt said about SS/MC?  What has Bammmer said about SS/MC?
Hookbender — Apr 22, 2012[quote author=BINGEWOOD link=1328191390/75#90 date=1335055823]Take a look at how Reagan and Bush reduced taxes on the rich...

I don't think anyone cares that Mitt is rich.  The fact that he pays a much smaller tax percentage than the average Joe and enjoys all of the advantages that this country brings has no possible justification.

Well, the fact that he, in one year, probably pays more taxes than the average 8 Joes will in a lifetime may help your feelings some.

And let's not forget, makes more than almost everyone in the country... in fact, he earned what I earned in all of 2010 in about 2 days.

Hook, you clearly haven't read Mitt Romney's plans.  Why not come back with an argument when you have?
For example, you bitch an awful lot about the housing market (as if the president controls the housing market?).

Well, do you know what Mitt Romney's plans are for the housing market?  To let it fall apart and"hit bottom".  Sound like what you support?  It certainly doesn't sound like it.  What were Mitt Romney's plans for American manufacturing?  "Let Detroit go bankrupt." I know you agree with that, but you've certainly been given massive amounts of proof that that stance was a big mistake by now, unless you just haven't read the news in months.

What are Romney's plans to help the poor and the middle class?  Basically, it boils down to cutting taxes, particularly on the rich.

I don't think that Romney being rich automatically disqualifies him from being president.  But I do think what he's said and what he says he has planned should make us all fear him as the worst possible thing that could happen to this country right now.

Well, at the time this stuff started to fall apart, I certainly would have let the market take care of housing. I'm not sure what I'd do now but the second wave of foreclosures is about to hit. What do you think the effect of that will be on the economy? The housing market is dragging our economy down. I would definitely have let that crash and burn and reset rather than just extending the torture indefinitely. I would have also let the car industry crash and burn on principle. This isn't the first time we had to bail out car makers. The government has no business sticking it's nose into private business. We came out ok this time and thats good. But I hope it's the last time it's considered.

Obama cut taxes on the rich as well. That argument we'll call a wash.

I know Romney supports low interest student loans. He didn't have to attempt to get student loans yet he understands the need for their existence.

Did you watch that video?

Hook, what the hell are you posting?  You realize this is Romney in 2008?  That he's forecasting that the US economy will not go into recession?  And my favorite part: "Look what low taxes have done for Ireland."  Ireland, whose economy is in a complete shambles, whose unemployment rate went from 4% (when Romney was speaking) to 14% today... clearly, not a guy who has much ability to see what's coming.
Sorry about that 2008 thing. Should have paid more attention.

I just think Obama is gonna have a hard time getting anything done his second term. I think the last thing we need is to stay stagnant. Romney will have a better chance of getting things moving again. Not that Romney is great or anything, he's just republican. Republicans control the house now.
Bammer defny had a hard time getting pubs to vote for things they came up with or supported before he came along...
Yep, we need a clean sweep--Obama, Democrats to take back the house and retain 60 in the senate.  Otherwise, we get to go back to where we were in '00 and '04... lotta good that did.
Just gross that the power play is always put before the strength of the nation which shows you much of it all is bullshit/theater.
I can't see how Romney could get the religious vote. How could a Christian vote for a Mormon?
The hate goes out then it comes in.
http://news.yahoo.com/blogs/ticket/yahoo-news-david-chalian-election-outlook.html
S'why I get to vote for any candidate I choose.
Did you pick up on the last paragraph where it said that....  "Romney has a much tougher lift to put enough states in his column to reach the magic number of 270."

"Magic" number of 270."  ;D ;D ;D

OK. So where did the money come from? "The infusion?" The problem we have is the government is to big to fail. Fucking cunts! We have Band-Aids all over our economy and we are to think the money spent to fix the shit worked. Shit, what a damn mess of shit.
"At the same time, the Postal Service would get an infusion of roughly $11 billion, basically a refund of overpayments made in previous years to a federal retirement fund."
Yeah, exactly.

Good One!!!!! ;)
Craig, we've seen what the military in the hands of one person can do all over the Middle East over the past year.  If you really think the US is on a path anything like that, and this isn't just a load of conservative fearmongering bullshit, you need to get your head checked.
;D ;D
I think you missed the points of that cartoon.  ;)
I guess I did... haha.  I don't get easily distracted by boobs on stick figures...
Just political figures that are boobs, eh?  ;D
