LOVE that album.
My favorite band when I was younger and that was my favorite album by them. WORE that out on the parents big console stereo (when they weren't home!  :))

Sabotage

The Italian heavy metal band formed in 1981 as Blind Demon, right?  :D

(J/K, I know you're still talking about Black Sabbath.  ;) )
Starting last night and going all through today I've been listening to Blackmore's Night (Ritchie and his wife).  Some of you (Howie excluded as usual  :D ) will probably like it.    :)

YouBoob has a few full albums up including their latest one.

Ghost of a Rose

A Knight in York

Shadow of the Moon

Village Lanterne

Dancer and the Moon Full

Oh, and I can't help but comment on Candice.  26 years younger than him (he's 68, she's 42) and WOW!  What a looker.

I love Blacmore's Knight. Fantastic band that have a sound that is all their own.
First of all, GO RITCHEY!   :o

Today, Boston- Third Stage (Craig got me jonesing for some GOOD Boston and I wasn't loving the new stuff to death on first listen, but I will listen again).

In the car... man, I am still in "I."   It's unbelievable how many songs start with the letter "I."  I listened for over a week, and realized I was not YET on songs that started with WORDS that began with I, but I was still on songs that began with THE WORD "I."   So after almost 10 days of songs that start with the word I, I am three days into songs that the name starts with a word which begins with the letter I and I am on songs in the "IL" songs.

There are several interesting things that happen when you listen to things "Play all" style like this.  A) I hear music that I haven't heard in years.  Stuff I like enough to have, but don't "choose" to listen too anymore in the form of putting in the CD or calling it up on SYNC.  Stuff like Bad Company, Bob Seger, The Beatles, etc.   One weird thing is, I have over 6,500 songs on the hard drive that is in my car, hooked up to the stereo via Sync.  It's very unusual to hear two songs in a row by the same artist.  Yet last week I heard it 4 times, and one time there were three in a row.  The other thing that's weird when you listen this way is, you here every version of a song, back to back.  So, for people like Jimi Hendrix for whom I have TONS of albums but really not a huge total of different songs, I'll hit a Hendrix song and hear 3, 4, 5 or even more versions of the same song, back to back.  Same with Rush and Dream Theater, for whom I have every studio album plus numerous live ones, so I'll hear one of their songs 3-4 times, all different versions.

One of the REALLY weird things is the sometimes jarring contrast of one song to the next.  A lower volume Earth Wind and Fire or James Taylor song, followed by a slammed Megadeth or Dream Theater track can just about make you jump out of the car seat.   :)  And it's really weird when you get songs that ALWAYS go with another song, like "Foreplay/ Long Time" or "Waitin for the Bus/Jesus Just Left Chicago"  Those songs are just ingrained in your head that every time you hear one, you hear both.  When you are in this mode, you hear one and then the next song is buy someone completely different.

Who cares?  Well, I talk about this because I think it's interesting.  I have tons of music as I supposed most of you do.  When you pick you favorite, or what you are in the mood for, I suspect many of you are like me and have music in your collection that you haven't heard in years.  This is a cool way to re-visit some things you used to love but haven't heard in a long time.
Yesterday was pretty much all of Def Leppard's albums played in chronological order.

Today?  Who knows!  :)

Today?  Who knows!  :)

Come on, Craig.  If you don't tell me what you're listening too, how am I supposed to know what I don't like???    ;D ;D
Well, today was a "who knows!" because I was in my friend's auto body supply shop until almost 1am reorganizing it (and more work to go tomorrow).  So I had an iPod with New Wave on shuffle play and that was it.  :)
That's easy enough.  I don't like new wave!   :)

Today, Reds game on radio.  Maybe some tunes later.
Bought two Trower CD's that I didn't have.  Been listing to them.  Highly recommended.

What Lies Beneath
20th Century Blues

Sorry, can't find You Tube links for the whole albums.
Ok, no links to whole albums, but I STRONGLY recommend anyone who likes Blues or Trower or both, to pick up 20th Century Blues.  Killer songs and playing and some of his best tones ever.  I like many of his tones over his career but these definitely lean more towards SRV tones and the playing is KILLER on this one!   I'm giving it a "two snaps, and around the world" recommendation!
Just got the full album Renegade by the band Toseland.  Here are some examples.

They opened for Status Quo out in England recently.  Pretty good stuff!  Plus, it seems to get better with multiple listenings (always a good thing).  :)

I watched these... couldn't take it. I would have thought it was pretty good in the late 80s.

I am losing my mind listening to this- Reggie Watts live in Central Park. Hard to even really describe Reggie Watts but there is comedy, there is sublime cultural criticism, there is wild looping. The non-live interludes are pretty skippable-- but at the 8:00 mark this just goes into an exposition on time followed by some serious insane looping.

I had never even heard of the guy until he kept appearing in different commercials.

When I used to do lighting at some of the illegal, underground clubs in L.A., I got to meet several of the top guys before they were famous and putting out CD's (like Frankie Bones, Adam X, Doc Martin, etc.).  Reggie's a new name for me - I'll have to check out that link in a bit when I have some time.
Holy crap - never knew he could do so much more than spin a turntable.  Can you imagine hanging out with him for a while?
I can't imagine even being able to keep up in a conversation. There are so many clips of his live stuff online, and every single bit and song and gig is different. His Ted and TedX performances are all immaculate too.
This Reggie Watts was the first one to really twist my head:

Wow.  Just brilliant!  I wonder if the crowd had any real idea just how much he fucked with them.

I'm finding it hardest to relate his overall look with how intelligent his face looks and he is.  He seems to have full command of several disparate abilities that many haven't gotten by with only one of.  Very impressive!
I listened to Sabaton most of the day today.  I saw them live last night when they opened up for Iced Earth.  Revamp was the first band.  Really good show.  Here is the latest Sabaton with the lineup from last night.  I was really impressed with this Swedish Band.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T62emP7HaXc

Here is some Revamp.  Some of you may know the female vocalist from newer Nightwish.  This chick can wail.  They were quite good, but only played about six songs.  Here is one of their albums.  You may want to google some video.  She was very easy on the eyes.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p-_B2e7Z3W4

What can I say about Iced Earth.  I've been a fan for a long time.  They put on an awesome show.  My Bro gave me the VIP deal as a gift so I got to meet the band.  They were really cool and spent a little time with us as there were only a handful of people that paid for the VIP.  Needless to say it was a pretty intense show for a dude who hadn't been out to a live venue in a while.  Very small venue.  Awesome show.

Cool!  Three bands I don't have (Sabaton, Revamp and Nightwish).  I'll check these out tomorrow while I'm working.  :)
Definitely some moments I liked in the stuff I've heard so far.  A bit too Cookie Monster-ish at times, but I'm learning to ignore that better.  :)

I can only listen to so much metal before my ears need a break though.  ;)
Watching chicken foot right now doing Highway star !  Excellent, that's all I can say

Just checkin' out some of Greg Koch's work (after watching that video Jon posted).  Pretty damn good stuff!  :)

Here's Zoiks the first song off his "The Grip" album.

And HERE are a few of the other songs from that album.
And some more

I can't get enough of this guys playing.  Top notch stuff

And more

This is EXACTLY why we need to keep posting what we find.  I'm also still listening to him and I'd NEVER heard of him before your first clinic post.  :)

Now if my bud Walter Trout can only get himself a liver (he's lost so much weight he looks like skin over bones!), then he'll be able to play live again to promote a new album that's coming out ("The Blues Came Callin'").  They just did a four hour benefit concert for him that only ended because of a time curfew.  There's also been over $220,000 raised to help with his medical bills.  Danny Gatton's long gone, so it would suck to lose Walter as well...

I hear ya.  Holy crap they were loud at the show.  I go through spells of listening to metal before I need to take a break.

I checked out a few of the things posted over the last bit.  The Toseland was OK but seemed kinda Partridge Familish in that the band seemed thrown together for the purpose of the Band and not necessarily the music.

I watched the Reggie watts stuff.  Super talented.  Just not my thing.  I don't want to have to work to stay with it.

I watched the Chickenfoot video.  I have always liked Sammy Hagar.  Especially before Van Halen.  I like his vocals, and think he's a pretty good songwriter.  He usually does retro covers justice.  I need to actually listen to the CF albums though.  I've seen some of their video.

That stuff sent me in all kind of directions.  A few other Highway Star versions.  I listened to most of the Blackfoot catalog.  The 2 albums before their popular "Strikes" are pretty good if you like that 70's southern thang.

Currently listening to Greg Koch Band - Plays Well With Others- from 2013

I'll check out the Greg Koch videos later.  I have to listen while I work.  No watching.

Wow.  I kept waiting for some monster to jump out at me.  ;D  That stuff is pretty cool, but not nearly redneck enough for me.

Speaking of redneck, in the Greg Koch diversions, I ran across this band from Texas that I really liked.  enough that I bought their newest.  Here are their first two albums respectively.  I think they have some tasty acoustic guitar, slide and lead guitar playing.  If I can listen to 13 minutes of monster music, you can give this a whirl.  LOL  GET YER REDNECK ON!!!!  Whiskey Myers

Yep, I can listen to that too, sounds good to me,  although I could only see and listen to the 2nd video as the 1st one says that it can't be viewed in UK owing to copyright.
Over the last three days...  Pretty much all of the discographies from:

FM - Sample song

Carmen - The Gypsies - Full Album

Eloy (very Deep Purple-ish) - Floating - Full Album

Did you quote the right stuff?
I guess he has the right product.

I listened to that FM song.  That is some interesting stuff.  I'll try to check out some more of them.

I was watching the Rangers-Penguins Game with the sound off and listened to that whole Carmen album.  Flamenco Rock.  That was pretty good tunes.

I'll try the other out tomorrow.
Yep, the Penguins failed.  Oh well.  Some of the FM stuff gets a bit light-pop-ie, but most is pretty good.  The Carmen stuff (with a future Tull bass player) is a bit eclectic but fun, however I really like the Eloy stuff.

I'm going to continue with some more interesting Prog tomorrow (I'll post the bands then).  :)
Still on an Eloy kick.  They really transition from Deep Purple to more like Pink Floyd as the albums go along (there's even some Tull moments in between those).

Try this one:  Eloy - Colours  :)

I listened to the Eloy - Colours.  The link for the Eloy in your other post is the same link for the Carmen album.

Yesterday I stumbled across Val Halen's 2012 Release - A Different Kind Of Truth

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wg5HIUU8QP8

I hadn't listened to it before.  It had gotten some poo-poo reviews.  I actually liked it.  I thought it had a similar sound and vibe as the Old VH.

I stumbled on this today.  Had never heard of them.  You can certainly hear the Black Sabbath influence.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aJplvCYERSk

I had done a you tube search for 2011 full albums and saw it.  Listed as stoner rock. LOL  It's pretty good.  That's a pretty good way to find new music.

That Freedom Hawk is awesome.  Like Kyuss + Sabbath + Soundgarden.  Not as heavy or sludgy as Kyuss, not as fast or groovy as Sabbath, and the singer sounds like a cross between Chris Cornell and Ozzy, but very listenable if you're a stoner rock fan as I am.
I liked it quite a  lot.  I listened to the whole album.  I dig that kind of stuff.

Here's another that I am currently listening to.  Taylor Hawkins from Foo Fighters.  Lots of guest players.  Sounds pretty good.
